Intro Email: An Unlikely Windfall for EV Adoption

Subject: Did Volkswagen’s bad acting pave the way for building EV infrastructure?

Preview Text: Volkswagen's misconduct resulted in new market opportunities for electric vehicles, establishing the push for more EV infrastructure. Are you ready to benefit from this opportunity?

Hello {firstname},

Not all corporate mishaps and scandals have a negative result.

I know what you're thinking, but hear me out.

There are situations where a lack of corporate governance results in an awakening of new marketing opportunities.

Take for example Volkswagen.

A few years ago, multinational automaker Volkswagen was found guilty of lying about the performance of its diesel passenger vehicles. Federal officials decided that the settlement would benefit owners of these diesel VW vehicles AND the rest of us who were affected by the “additional” emissions generated by these cars.

The settlement was structured in 2016. And VW established the VW Settlement Clearinghouse and Electrify America. A subsidiary of VW, Electrify America owns and manages a wide network of electric vehicle charging stations to offset the emissions brought to light by the scandal.

This initiative that was born out of a corporate scandal was the first significant private investment in building EV charging infrastructure. It helps ensure that communities across the nation can benefit from the ability to charge their vehicles without experience range anxiety - the driver's worry that their EV car battery will run out of power before they can recharge.

Electrify America's plan is to invest $2 billion in zero-emission vehicle infrastructure, access, and education programs in the United States by 2027. Now in its second investment cycles respectively for California and the remaining contiguous states, Electrify America is investing another $500 million tranche in fueling infrastructure for EVs across the U.S.

My question is... are you ready to take advantage of VW's faux pas?
