YOUR Grind Will Make YOUR Dreams Come True!

It’s official. I am now a published business writer. I’m totally, totally PSYCHED!

Years ago, I worked for Lululemon. The decision to work with the athleisure retailer was strategic. The key benefits supported my immediate goals. I shamelessly took advantage of the free yoga classes and Lulu’s version of immersive personal development coaching. My family was in the process of returning to our hometown, Washington, DC after I lived in Brooklyn, NY for more than a decade. My plan was to step off Lululemon’s retail floor within 3 months - after landing my first role as a commercial real estate professional. The plan didn’t quite work, it took me 4 months to pull it off.

Lulu’s onboarding required each member of the Logan Circle start-up team to spend a week teasing out the one thing that “I am the best in the world at”. I wrote:

Training and educating laymen on complex business and real estate principles and showing them by example how they [the principles] can be continually and be consistently applied to create extraordinary success.

The Most High knows I’ve worked hard to stay on mission. I am that person in my family and in my business circles to breakdown the terminologies used in CNBC interviews into everyday language. Almost everything happening on Wall Street, I can tie back to real estate and Main Street. I lived for the opportunity to explain the lingo of the CRE industry. I learned how to do deals and spent most of my real estate career creating multi-million-dollar opportunities for others. Yet, getting to MY spot, experiencing success on my terms seemed elusive. What “I am best in the world at” is a gift that I have worked hard to keep in focus.

At the height of my most stressful and chaotic career experiences, God put on my heart to seriously explore electric vehicle adoption. A vision called Dai Technologies Corporation was birthed during period. DaiTechCorp gives me a vehicle to reach the masses via print media, video, and social media. I am blessed to share my new exploration of complex business and real estate principles. That’s what building an emerging industry, like electrified transportation is all about. For the past 3-1/2 years I have connected the dots explaining how the electric vehicle market will expand and flourish. And I have also explained why the public infrastructure will NOT be developed without the cooperation of commercial property owners and asset managers.

My very first article in newsprint was issued on Friday, October 22nd edition of The Baltimore Times. My series on EV adoption and the EV charger infrastructure ended this past Friday. It’s been 13 years since I scribed my intentions. I thank God for good health, a right mind and staying power. My grind is making my dreams come true.   What is your grind doing for you?
